Restoration

It all starts here. In no order other than what I do at the time and what i can be bothered to write about.

First off is the brakes. Seeing as the fronts were seized when I bought the car and new pistons are expensive. I thought I’d just fit some Midget discs and have better brakes from the off.

Interesting to note that the previous owner had put the rear cage cylinder and rod mechanism in upside down or back to front so the handbrake wouldn’t work.

So off to Evilbay to buy some secondhand Midget discs…

But I did get a new wishbone, new pads and a new kingpin set thrown in. clean up time.

After looking into getting the kingpins reamed etc. I decided to get a recon exchange pair. Much easier and time saving when you factor the cost of another king pin. probably would have been cheaper to buy all the parts and loose the exchange surcharge rather than buy the rusty bits to start with.
